(Ames, IA) April 14, 2014—Ortho Computer Systems, Inc. announces the release of Edge 4. This new version of Edge features countless enhanced features and improved functionality designed to optimize the efficiency of each orthodontic practice.
The powerful new features within Edge 4 include Timepoint Morphing, a powerful new tool to show patients the transformation they have gone through during treatment, ABO Case submission, the ability to schedule patient reminders, and utilizing the ever-expanding library of reports and integrations throughout Edge.
In addition, Ortho2 announces Practice Connect, a practice-branded Android and iPhone app, which gives offices the ability to share information with current and prospective patients and parents. Patients have instant access to their appointments, images, animations, and rewards. Responsible parties get the added ability to view financials and make payments. Users can also select appointment reminder preferences and use the app to check in when they arrive at the office. And referring potential patients becomes rewarding and easy to do at any time. Prospective patients can also use the app to learn about doctors, staff, the facility, and treatment information, including videos. Practice Connect also allows a practice to send notifications to patients about treatment reminders, promotions, or any other message desired.
Another mobile option is Edge Mobile, a FREE Android and iPhone app, which gives the doctor or office access to patient and professional information, their schedule and appointments, Stacks, and various user-defined charts.
Edge offices will also enjoy the ability to auto-navigate to the date of an appointment when scheduling using the Smart Scheduler, opening a patient’s appointment history directly from the Scheduler, as well as new financial features like designating a contract as open-ended and changing the total treatment fee of an existing contract.
Other new features include barcode support allowing users to assign barcodes to appliances or patient records for easy tracking; new widgets including the session, calculator, and quick report widgets; new reports including Transaction Report Log, Patients with No Appointments, Doctor Time, and Practice Monitor; and the tooth chart can be expanded to fill the entire page.
