Ormco Announces Insignia™ Advanced Smile Design™ Software Update & Reaches 100,000 Patient Case Milestone
New Insignia 21.8.1 Software Offers New Molar Options, Improved Bond Strength and Custom Fit Molar Jigs
ORANGE, Calif. (Dec. 7, 2015)—Ormco Corporation, a leading manufacturer and provider of advanced orthodontic technology and services, today announced a new software update for Insignia™ Advanced Smile Design™, an award-winning orthodontic software and appliance system that combines 3-D diagnostic technology and interactive treatment planning to deliver a completely customized solution to patients. The Insignia 21.8.1 software upgrade offers doctors an array of new molar tube options and re-engineered placement jigs for increased clinical efficiency and enhanced case personalization. At the forefront of digital orthodontics, Ormco has also announced a distinguished milestone for Insignia, sharing that the company has shipped the 100,000 Insignia case.
“Innovation is a top priority at Ormco and we’re excited to introduce another advancement for our award-winning Insignia technology that has already received a positive reaction from our users,” said Patrik Eriksson, president of Ormco. “We are extremely proud to reach the 100,000 patient milestone, and celebrate alongside our progressive Insignia doctors for their commitment to digital innovation and high-tech advancements that can drive practice growth. Ormco is continuously working to evolve Insignia and with this latest 21.8.1 software release, which features newly designed jigs and new molar tube options, orthodontists have more control over appliance selection and precise bracket placement accuracy.”
With the latest software updates—now available for download—Insignia offers new molar options for greater case customization, as orthodontists can now choose from SnapLink, Accent Mini or Custom TIB tubes. With these additional options for treatment submissions, bond strength can be increased by at least 30 percent while providing reduced profiles for optimal patient comfort. Additionally, the software upgrade includes reengineered custom fit molar precision placement guides (jigs) designed to offer clinicians and patients a precise, controlled and reliable bonding experience. Similarly, with full occlusal coverage, clinicians are able to secure a more stable fit to help decrease unwanted movement.
The 100,000 Insignia patient case milestone signifies increased adoption of innovative digital tools that differentiate an orthodontic practice. With Insignia Advanced Smile Design, doctors are able to review and conduct a thorough smile analysis based on each patient’s specific smile anatomy. By customizing treatment based on each specific facial feature, orthodontists are able to virtually eliminate minor adjustments and tweaks throughout the treatment process, leading to fewer in-office visits, faster results and improved patient comfort. Additionally, the Insignia Doctor Locator has proven to be an invaluable resource for orthodontists, helping increase patients starts and ultimately, grow their practice.
